Product Description

A drainage pump, also known as a sump pump, is a device used to remove water that has accumulated in a water-collecting sump basin, commonly found in basements of homes. The pump helps prevent flooding by pumping out excess water to a designated drainage area such as a municipal storm drain or a dry well.

There are different types of drainage pumps, including submersible pumps that are installed inside the sump basin and pedestal pumps that are mounted above the basin. Submersible pumps are typically quieter and more efficient, as they are designed to operate underwater.

Drainage pumps are essential in areas prone to flooding or where water accumulation is common due to high groundwater levels or poor drainage systems. They are often equipped with float switches that activate the pump when water levels reach a certain point and deactivate it once the water is pumped out, helping to automate the process and prevent overflow.

  • The pump volute shall be of cast Iron grade FG260 of IS210/ISO186 standard, stainless steel shaft, suitable for pumping liquid at 50 degree centigrade.
  • The pumps shall have an open type impeller with material of construction of High chrome alloy and hardness of 55-60 Rc.
  • The Pump shall be supplied with double mechanical shaft seal with material of construction of SiC / SiC/Viton/S.S 316 at the pump end.
  • The pump shall be close coupled with a dry submersible motor, having class F insulation, IP 68 protection, 2900 rpm, epoxy sealed cable entry with S1 duty, 3 phase, 415 volts, 1 phase, 240 volts.
  • All cast iron parts shall be CED (cathode electrode deposition) coated for corrosion resistance with uniform coating and controlled deposition thickness of 20-30 microns.
